Boom is a music player for your Android device that comes with an equalizer and a 3D surround sound option that will completely transform the audio quality on your phone. You can take full control of how you want the audio to sound, or you can simply let Boom take over and work its magic. If you are an avid music fan, Boom will surely add a lot of value to your daily listening.
Great UI and easy to get started
Boom on Android is simple to get started with. When you first install the application, you are greeted with a welcome screen, and afterward, you can navigate to your music library, cloud storage, or podcasts to play your content and enjoy it to the fullest. With Boom turned on, the quality is enhanced by enabling surround sound, providing a complete theater-like experience.
During the initial setup, the app also asks about the type of headphones you use. The options include in-canal, in-ear, over-the-head, and more. Based on your choice, it automatically determines and optimizes the sound profile.
Compatibility
Boom allows you to play your music from a variety of sources. The options through which you can play audio include:
- Music Library
- Dropbox
- TIDAL (only in the premium version)
- Radio
- Podcast
- Google Drive
- Explore Boom
With the Explore Boom option, you can add an external URL and play audio through it. This is an excellent feature, as it lets you tune into internet radio stations or custom streams that are not included by default.
Boom System FX
Boom System FX acts as the built-in equalizer for the application. Once activated, you can choose from a wide variety of presets, including bass boost, acoustic, classical, electronic, and more. You can also create and save custom presets to use later.
Apart from the equalizer, you can independently adjust the bass, loudness, and virtualizer. Alongside the 3D surround sound, Boom System FX remains the standout feature of the app.
Price
While the app operates on a freemium model and is free to use, there is a premium subscription available that unlocks extra features such as 3D surround sound with EQ presets, system-wide Boom FX, and TIDAL streaming. The final cost depends on the tier chosen and active promotions, with pricing varying by region.
